A patient came to me for treatment of triglycerides and cholesterol. After three months of taking Chinese medicine and acupuncture, both triglycerides and cholesterol levels dropped significantly.

Triglycerides dropped to 119.
Cholesterol dropped to 211.
🍊Triglycerides: Mainly derived from dietary fats and refined sugars, high levels can easily lead to fatty liver, pancreatitis, and arteriosclerosis.
🍊Cholesterol: Divided into "good cholesterol (HDL)" and "bad cholesterol (LDL)." High levels of "bad cholesterol" increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
🍊Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that triglycerides and cholesterol are related to the spleen and stomach's function in transporting and transforming food, and the flow of liver qi. Common syndromes include phlegm-dampness, liver stagnation, and spleen deficiency. The following acupoints can be combined with treatment:
🍒 Zusanli: Strengthens the spleen and stomach, promotes metabolism.
🍒 Fenglong: Reduces phlegm and reduces lipids, improving blood lipids.
🍒 Ganshu: Soothes the liver and regulates qi, aiding cholesterol metabolism.
🍒 Sanyinjiao: Strengthens the spleen and eliminates dampness, harmonizes the endocrine system.

Dietary Principles:
🍒 Foods that lower triglycerides: Oats, buckwheat, quinoa, broccoli, apples, avocados.

🍒 B vitamins (especially B3 niacin): Help with fat metabolism.
Foods: Brown rice, whole-wheat bread, green vegetables, nuts.
