Common symptoms of hypertension:

1. Head symptoms: Headache (especially in the back of the head), dizziness, heaviness, and headache.

2. Visual problems: Blurred vision and retinal hemorrhage.

3. Circulatory system complaints: Chest tightness, wheezing, palpitations, abnormal heart rhythm, and difficulty breathing.

4. Systemic symptoms: Fatigue, flushing, neck stiffness, and lower limb edema.

5. Other symptoms: Tinnitus and nocturia.

Other complications of hypertension:

1. Stroke: Hypertension is a major risk factor for stroke. Long-term hypertension can easily cause cerebral blood vessel rupture or blockage.

2. Coronary artery disease: Hypertension can lead to hardening of the coronary arteries, causing angina or myocardial infarction.

3. Cardiac arrhythmia: Impaired heart function may cause arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation.

4. Kidney disease: Hypertension can damage the small blood vessels in the kidneys, leading to renal impairment and even renal failure.

5. Retinopathy: Hypertension may cause retinal arteriosclerosis, bleeding, and even retinal detachment.

Dietary taboos for people with hypertension (foods to avoid):

1. High-sodium foods: Pickles, pickled cucumbers, kimchi, canned foods, processed meats (sausage, ham, bacon), fast food, salty snacks (potato chips, popcorn), seasonings (MSG, soy sauce, oyster sauce, fermented black bean paste), etc.

2. High-fat foods: Animal fats (lard, fatty pork), braised pork, and other high-fat foods.

3. High-cholesterol foods: Animal offal (liver, kidney), fish roe, crab roe, and egg yolk (limited intake recommended).

4. Fried and spicy foods: Fried foods (fried chicken, fried dough sticks), fried snacks (French fries), spicy condiments such as chili peppers and curry powder.

5. Processed foods: Biscuits, cakes, and instant noodles.

6. Alcohol: Excessive alcohol consumption can increase blood pressure.

7. Strong tea and coffee: Strong tea can cause palpitations and insomnia, and may also increase blood pressure, so consumption should be reduced.

Health foods that lower blood pressure:

1. Magnesium: Magnesium increases nitric oxide in the blood, which relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure.

2. B vitamins: B vitamins eliminate fatigue-causing substances in the body. In addition to the B vitamins, vitamins A, C, and E also help prevent cholesterol oxidation in the blood and regulate blood pressure.

3. CoQ10: CoQ10 is produced by the body. Research has shown that it can lower systolic blood pressure. Patients should use it in moderation as directed by their doctor. 4. Arginine: Arginine is an amino acid. International studies have shown that arginine supplements can improve vascular function and blood flow, thereby lowering blood pressure.

5. Ginger: Studies have shown that ginger supplements may help lower blood pressure, triglycerides, and fasting blood sugar levels.
